boxes“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” -Pablo Picasso-

Over the holidays Mrs. Diegel and Mrs. Bristol took 5 young ladies from CFC over to Sebewaing to volunteer in a Caring and Sharing project. Each year, the project (hosted at Trinity United Methodist Church) provides food and gifts to over 75 families in the county during the holiday season. The girls loaded food boxes with canned goods and other non-perishables for families of varying sizes. They had to keep the size of each family in mind as they were packing in order to give the proper amount of food to each. After filling all of the boxes, the girls then moved on to gift wrapping. Gifts for all of the children in the families had been donated, but not wrapped. It was the girls’ job to take these unwrapped gifts, wrap them, label them, and sort them to be sure they get to the correct families on delivery day later this week. All of the girls had an amazing time and finished more work than the other volunteers at the church ever expected them to do. One of the leaders of the project commented that they were, “the best group we’ve had working here!” We are hoping that the girls’ work ethic, positive attitudes, and willingness to give back will allow us to participate in this project for years to come. Great job ladies!
