Clarence Fischer Leadership Academy

Located in Vassar, Michigan, the CFLA program is a military leadership academy program designed to instill structure and discipline in males, ages 14-17 in need of focus in their lives. CFLA is a six month program that builds life skills, educational progress, promotes successful community living and family relationships. The program is non-secure and rests on the Wolverine/Vassar campus of over 125 acres.



Clients engage in various military style activities including ceremony and drill, physical training and leadership development using a platoon leader model. Clients entering the CFLA program should be physically active and/or have the ability to participate in physically challenging activities. Clients should also have a full scale IQ of 80 or above.

The CFLA program, which originally opened in 1998, has been a successful departure from traditional residential programming by combining a military bearing, vocational opportunities, education and counseling services to provide today's client a unique, effective and short term direction to success.
