Located in Vassar, Michigan, on the Wolverine/Vassar Campus, this non-secure program is a fully licensed residential substance abuse treatment center for young men, ages 13-17. The WCARE-R Program provides clinically managed residential substance abuse treatment designed to assist adjudicated male adolescents with all essential phases of their recovery. Clients placed in the WCARE-R program typically are those with on-going delinquency/behavioral issues which need to be addressed as well.

WCARE-R is based on a unique blend of Reality Therapy, Behavioral Modification, Group Therapy and Family and Individual counseling, Restorative Justice Principles, Monthly Wilderness experiences and Vocational Work-Study Programming are all integral parts of the program. WCARE-R works in conjunction with the judicial system, case managers, probation officers and family to reintegrate the clients to the community with a plan of recovery and improved mechanisms of coping.

The WCARE Program utilizes cognitive behavioral group processes, integrated with the Twelve Steps of Recovery, to assist clients to internalize necessary coping and life skills for success upon reintegration into the community. Restorative Justice principles are used to instill a sense of accountability to the community and the victim.
