Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)

Wolverine Human Services places the highest standard and priority on client care and safety. WHS is compliant with federal laws and regulations under the PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) standards. Federal PREA standards are required in any facility that serves and/or houses court ordered clients or inmates. This is to ensure the humane, safe, and appropriate treatment of persons under court mandated care or residence. The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) seeks to prevent sexual assault/rape of clients in residential care; to prevent incidents of sexual abuse and sexual harassment; and to take prompt, effective, and compassionate action if allegations of sexual abuse or harassment are made. There is zero tolerance of sexual assault/rape of clients in juvenile justice facilities. Personnel will follow all rules and expectations designed to prevent sexual assault and must cooperate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and the courts in the investigation and possible prosecution of anyone involved in the sexual assault/rape of a client.

Outside reporting of instances/allegations of sexual abuse or rape may be made to the following:

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS): 1-855-444-3911

Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network-National Sexual Assault Hotline: 1-800-656-4673

Welcome to Wolverine Human Services (WHS) Performance & Quality Improvement Program.  The WHS executive leadership team, the Board of Directors and PQI Department would like to invite you, and all of our stakeholders to provide input, feedback and quality improvement ideas to agency.  WHS knows that our services, programs and quality care provided to clients and their families all rest with our reputation for providing quality programs and services, for remaining innovative in a changing world, and to dedication to the agency mission of “Helping Children Be Victors!”  We know that feedback from our community of stakeholders makes us a stronger, better, more effective and quality agency for our clients, personnel and communities we serve.

WHS provides a variety of ways for stakeholders to be involved in our PQI Program and activities.  All of the PQI Department activities and outputs are geared to include and integrate stakeholder feedback, input into what and how we measure our success and outcomes, ideas on how to better improve our services, and opportunities to better serve.
