Travis and Anna Buerky joined our Wolverine family in June of 2016. They stated that they became foster parents because, “So many kids need loving homes and we want to make a difference in a child’s life.” Travis and Anna are currently adopting their foster daughter.
Travis and Anna reported that their greatest joy has been falling in love with their foster child, watching her grow and fitting her into their family. They report they “have never parented but have been learning to navigate the system and how to be parents.”
To someone going through the process Travis advises other foster parents to keep track of everything and ask questions and make sure you are comfortable with the choices you have made. Anna advises people to be patient and get an understanding of the licensing process which will make the transition a lot easier.
