Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)
Wolverine Human Services places the highest standard and priority on client care and safety. WHS is compliant with federal laws and regulations under the PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) standards. Federal PREA standards are required in any facility that serves and/or houses court ordered clients or inmates. This is to ensure the humane, safe, and appropriate treatment of persons under court mandated care or residence. The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) seeks to prevent sexual assault/rape of clients in residential care; to prevent incidents of sexual abuse and sexual harassment; and to take prompt, effective, and compassionate action if allegations of sexual abuse or harassment are made. There is zero tolerance of sexual assault/rape of clients in juvenile justice facilities. Personnel will follow all rules and expectations designed to prevent sexual assault and must cooperate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and the courts in the investigation and possible prosecution of anyone involved in the sexual assault/rape of a client.
