The 29th Annual Awards Banquet took place at Ford Field this year. On April 15th, over 250 people joined Wolverine to celebrate our children and families under the theme “Teach a Man to Fish”. This year’s theme came from Rick Williams and Naturel, national artists, who painted a mural entitled “Teach a Man to Fish” in Detroit’s Eastern Market for “the Murals in the Market Event”.

The Annual Awards hosted over 50 people on a behind the scenes tour of Ford Field, including a visit to the locker rooms and getting the walk on the field. From there, we kicked off the celebration with drinks and mingling, while overlooking the field.

As the celebration began we sat down to share in the accomplishments of three former clients (Kaelin Felton, Lillis Pierson, Jordyan Jackson) and one amazing foster family (Chris and Michelle Williams). The awards also celebrated the accomplishments of Nick Lyons, Director of the Department of Health and Human Services, as well as University of Michigan Athlete and School of Social Work student Christian Bryant.

Be on the look out for photos from the event to be shared on our social media, website, and with our official magazine partner Hour Detroit.
