We Can All Be Heroes book coverCOVID-19 has changed the way we all do things. From our everyday routines, jobs, travel and much more. Everyone has been affected by the virus and we continue to navigate the pandemic with hopeful thoughts of getting through this very soon and to a safe environment for all.

For Wolverine, it could not stop us from keeping our clients safe and busy. Judith Fischer Wollack, CEO, worked with program managers and clients in early April to create a story that would help explain the virus to children ages 3-7. Three clients not only accomplished this, but they successfully created the story and it was turned into a physical book. The best part, they wrote a song to go along with the book!

“I could not be more proud of these girls and what they accomplished in doing this. They are amazing artists and writers. Wait until you see the book.” Mrs. Wollack says about the girls and their work.

Mrs. Wollack got to sit down with the girls before the Christmas holiday to check-in and see what they thought of the book printed and in their hands.

Naomi could not be more thrilled when the hard copies of her book arrived. “It didn’t seem real. I could not believe it that I was holding the book in my hands. It looks amazing.”

Vineese also commented, “I think it is really cool we did this, we put so much hard work into this and for it to blossom [into an actual book] who knows maybe a bunch of kids everywhere can get this book and it will help them…”

Anna said, “I think it’s been a really amazing experience. We took a lot of time to do the book and it was a really fun experience for us. We also learned facts about what is going on.”

Mrs. Wollack got to spend more time with the girls catching up and seeing what their future holds. We will be releasing clips from the full interview on our social media pages and website soon so stay tuned!

Lastly, we are excited to announce that the book will be available for purchase near the end January on Wolverine’s website. The proceeds for the book will go towards a scholarship for the girls as well as COVID relief efforts for our care providers and families.

We hope you all are staying safe and can’t wait to share the book with you.
