Our Foster Care and Adoption team here at Wolverine works every day to provide an abundance of resources to our current and future foster care and adoptive parents to be successful in their Care Provider Journeys.
We understand that when fostering or adopting, there can be challenges along the way. We want our foster care and adoptive families to connect with community resources which can provide support in a variety of ways. A great resource for foster care and adoptive parents located in Michigan is the Downriver Foster Closet.
What is the Downriver Foster Closet & How Can They Help?
The Downriver Foster Closet provides new and lightly used clothes, toys, hygiene products and more to foster youth throughout the state of Michigan. Downriver Foster Closet also provides necessities to helps people become licensed as foster parents.
Downriver Foster Closet even offers a fantastic JetBlue Birthday club that provides opportunities for foster youth to pick out a brand-new toy from the Foster Care Closet along with a great birthday box from Jet Blue!
How Do I Get Involved?
If you are a current foster parent or are starting the foster care licensing process, the Downriver Foster Closet would love to connect with you to provide necessities to prepare you for placements or to offer other resources to those with current or new foster youth placements.
